ABOUT

Ecoglassworks Tarnów
We are ecoglassworks, the official brand of Ladna Glass Factory based in Poland, Europe. For over 60 years we are turning trashes to treasures, caring for the highest good - our mother Nature. As a company we believe in the idea of using what we already have and processing it into a product that is not only beautiful, but also useful and sustainable. Every produced piece is 100% recycled and handcrafted - made by our skilled blowers, which is making every piece unique. Our main focus is floristry (vases, glass terrariums, pots etc), but we also create household glass collections that are recognised around the world. For the businesses we can offer special terms of cooperation. We work with big corporations and small companies or trade sellers so we customise our products to fulfill our customers' need.
The Fisteks - one of Tarnów's oldest families. Some still remember their pre-war colonial store at 37 Krakowska Street, operated by grandparents Władysław and Wiktoria bravely assisted by their eight sons, who later ran it independently. In recognition of their merits in trade, the Fistek family receives a medal from the Krakow Merchants' Congregation. The godfather of the eighth brother was the President of the Republic Ignacy Moscicki. After the death of their mother and the absence of their father, who died in Auschwitz in 1943, all eight conceived to build the family business. In 1957, the seeds of the first private glass factory in Tarnow were being formed in Ujejskiego Street, at the back of the family home. Initially, it produced glass tubing and packaging glass, which was later replaced by crystal and lighting glass. Since there was a shortage of raw materials in the country, mainly recycled glass was used in production. In the 1970s and 1980s, the brothers opened three more family glass factories in Tarnow. They transported their handmade products by small cars all over Poland to numerous stores on Floriańska Street in Krakow and Piotrkowska Street in Lodz, among others.

In 1986 in the village of Ładna k. Tarnów, Janusz Fistek, son of Stanislaw, founded Huta Szkła “ŁADNA” as the second generation. The period of economic transformation in 1990-2000 proved very difficult for the family glassworks, which resulted in their closure. In spite of many economic crises and system changes, “Ladna” Glassworks as the last one continues the family glassmaking traditions. In 2003, Łukasz Fistek, son of Janusz, as the third generation joins the company. In 2004, Poland joins the European Union, which allows the company to gain new numerous foreign markets. Thanks to many investments and market expansion over the past twenty years, the Glassworks has been growing at an impressive rate. Today, “ŁADNA” Glassworks is the largest glassworks in Europe offering hand-formed recycled glass products. The export share is over 95% and products are sold in Europe, the USA, Australia and Asia. The third generation successfully continues the glassmaking traditions, based on the experience gained over 60 years. Ladna Glassworks is an ecological, innovative enterprise, which uses 100% recycled raw materials for its production. Thus, the company cares about environmental protection following and fitting in with the latest global trends. Own design, artistry and the latest technologies have made the Glassworks “Ładna” a leader in the industry.
